Test Code LAB9869 Glycosaminoglycan Analysis, Urine
Performing Section
Biochemical Genetics
Purpose/Principle
In this method urinary GAGs are first digested using a series of hydrolases. The resulting disaccharides are separated and quantified using stable isotopically labeled internal standards and LCMS/MS. Analytical measurements are adjusted for creatinine concentration and are compared to age related normal ranges.
Special Collection Notes
May squeeze from cotton balls placed in diaper.
