Purpose/Principle

Flow cytometry analysis of T cell proliferation following Phytohemagglutinin (PHA) stimulation.

Measurement of T cell proliferation is useful for assessment of immune deficiency and the quality of reconstitution following bone marrow or hematopoietic stem cell transplant. This assay can differentiate between decreased proliferation due to low T cell numbers and due to compromised T cell function.

Special Collection Notes

No Gel

Sample must received into the lab Monday-Friday(before noon). Do not send sample on Friday (after noon), Saturday, or Sunday.

Specimen Type

Whole Blood:
Dark Green Top- Sodium Heparin (Default)
Light Green Top- Lithium Heparin

Specimen Volume

Preferred: 3.0 mL
Minimum: 2.0 mL

Processing Instructions

Submit whole blood -DO NOT CENTRIFUGE.
Store and send ambient.
Sample must received into the lab Monday-Friday(before noon). Do not send sample on Friday (after noon), Saturday, Sunday or holidays.
