Purpose/Principle
The Neutrophil Oxidative Burst (NOB) assay is used to support the diagnosis of X-linked Chronic Granulomatous Disease (XL-CGD), XL-CGD carriers, and autosomal recessive forms of CGD (AR-CGD). The NOB assay can also be used as a monitoring tool for success of engraftment following hematopoietic or stem cell transplant for CGD. The NOB assay is also useful for assessment of neutrophil function in patients with Glycogen Storage Disease type 1b (GSD-1b) pre- and post-therapy.
