Purpose/Principle

This method measures the amount of HVA and VMA present using stable isotope dilution methodology. HVA and VMA and the isotopically labeled HVA and VMA internal standard are solvent extracted from acidified urine and their trimethylsilyl (TMS) derivatives are separated by gas chromatography and identified by mass spectrometry.
