Purpose/Principle
A cell sonicate is incubated with 14C-labelled glutaryl CoA and the labelled carbon dioxide that is released is collected in a potassium hydroxide “trap” and measured in a scintillation counter.

Fibroblasts must be mycoplasma free (send mycoplasma testing results with sample)
Send any relevant clinical patient information
Fibroblasts must be grown only in fetal calf serum of U.S. origin
Send T25 Flask(s) containing confluent fibroblasts
(with plug-seal caps, completely filled with media)
