Purpose/Principle
The FilmArray Gastrointestinal Pathogens Panel (GIP) pouch is a disposable, closed system that contains all the chemistry required to isolate, amplify and detect nucleic acid from multiple gastrointestinal pathogens directly from a single stool specimen. It is capable of simultaneous detection and identification of nucleic acids from multiple bacteria, viruses, and parasites in about one hour. The GIP is indicated for testing stool preserved in stool transport medium, obtained from individuals with signs and/or symptoms of gastrointestinal infection.
