Purpose/Principle
This method uses the Promega PowerPlex® Fusion System for analysis.
Numerous sequence variations have been defined in the human genome which can be used to specifically characterize and distinguish individuals and to define their relatedness within a family or a specific population.

Collect specimen according to standard operating procedure.

Tissue (Fresh-Frozen, Paraffin Embedded, or RPMI)

Whole Blood/Bone Marrow
Preferred: 4.0 mL
Minimum: 0.5 mL
*Receipt of blood or bone marrow within 72 hours of collection. Delays may impact nucleic acid quality.
Tissue
Preferred: uncut paraffin-embedded tissue block. Slides: 1 stained and 10 unstained - 10 micron thick slides
*Receipt within 24 hours of cutting or as soon as possible. Delays may impact nucleic acid quality.
Processing Instructions
Store and ship ambient. If transport is longer than 4 hours send refrigerated on cold pack.
For frozen tissue please send on dry ice- ASAP.
