Biochemical Genetics

Purpose/Principle

This method uses methanol to separate mycophenolic acid from protein in the sample, which is then applied to a reverse phase HPLC column and quantitated by comparison to a deuterated internal standard against which a calibration curve has been generated.

Special Collection Notes

Collect trough levels 30 minutes prior to next dose.

Specimen Volume

Preferred: 0.6 mL (0.3mL serum/plasma)

Minimum: 0.3 mL (0.1 mL serum/plasma)

Processing Instructions

CENTRIFUGE sample per procedure.
Pipette off plasma into pour off tube.
Store and send sample frozen via courier.
