*Diet, medication, and nutritional supplements may introduce interfering substances. Patient should be encouraged to discontinue nutritional supplements, vitamins, minerals, and nonessential over-the-counter medications for one week prior to sample draw.
Specimen Type
Serum/Plasma:
Royal blue top tube-EDTA (default)
Royal blue top tube-Plain
Specimen Volume
Preferred: 6 ml
Minimum: 1.5 ml
Processing Instructions
1) Allow sample to clot in upright position for 60 minutes.
2) Centrifuge sample within 2 hours of collection
3) Pipette off serum or plasma into ARUP TRACE ELEMENT-FREE TRANSPORT TUBE.
4) Place sample in refrigerator until courier arrives.
5) Send sample refrigerated via courier.
