Patient preparation: Patient should not be on aspirin, indomethacin, or anti-inflammatory medications, if possible, for at least 48 hours prior to collection of specimen.

Container/Tube:

Preferred: Red top

Acceptable: Serum gel

Submission Container/Tube: Plastic vial

Specimen Volume: 3 mL Serum

Collection Instructions:

1. Centrifuge as soon as possible, aliquot 3 mL of serum into a plastic vial.

2.Freeze specimen immediately after separation.

3. Send frozen.
